Some Sand Dollars are too high to collect. How do I reach them?The basic controls in Crabs and Penguins are “Jump” and “Dive.” There are a few advance techniques as well that can be used to collect even more Sand Dollars.
- Double Jump: Press “Jump” a second time while in the air.
- Float: Hold down “Jump” after performing a Double Jump to pull out the Hero Crab’s leaf parachute and float.
- Fast Dive: Press “Dive” while in the air to make the Hero crab dive at a much faster rate.
- Speed Float: Press “Jump” while under water to spin up to the surface very quickly.
How many levels are in Crabs and Penguins?There are six unique levels in the game. You need to complete each level in order before progressing to the next. After you have completed a level, you can return to it at any time to improve your high score and unlock more Awards.What is the best way to get a high score on all levels and unlock the 3 Star Award?The key to achieving a high score in Crabs and Penguins is building up a large multiplier and finding the Coca-Cola Cap on every level. Each item you collect has a point value.
- Sand Dollar: 1 Point
- Starfish: 5 Points
- Pearl: 10 Points
- Coca-Cola Cap: 100 Points
As you might have guessed, the multiplier increases the value of everything you collect. With a multiplier of 50, each Sand Dollar is worth 50 points. Star Fish increase your multiplier by 5 and Pearls increase your multiplier by 10. However if you don’t collect anything for three seconds, your multiplier returns to 1. Use the advanced techniques described above to continually collect items as you progress through the levels. Don’t forget to find the Coca-Cola Cap; it doubles your score at the end of each level!

Why is the Crabs and Penguins game running slowly or not running at all on my device?Crabs and Penguins is designed to work with iPad2, the New iPad and iPhone 4S. Unfortunately earlier versions of these devices will not be able to run the application. For Android, Crabs and Penguins has been optimized for devices running Fro-Yo and Ice Cream Sandwich. If you are experiencing poor performance on your PC or Mac, try adjusting the “Graphics Quality” setting which can be found on the “Graphics” tab of the configuration menu.I’m playing the game on my PC or Mac and I can’t control the Hero Crab.While playing on a PC or Mac, you can control the crab by using the “left” and “right” mouse buttons. The “z” and “x” keys can also be used for controls. You can set your own keyboard controls on the “Input” tab of the configuration menu.I’m using the New iPad and there is no sound when I play the game.One of the features of the New iPad is a mute button. It is located next to the volume control on the device. Try turning off mute to hear sound while playing the game.The game froze while I was playing on my mobile device, now what?If the game freezes while playing, we suggest restarting the Crabs and Penguins application. On Apple devices this is done by double clicking the Home Button and holding the App Icon down for several seconds. Android
- Download the Android ZIP file to your computer.
- Expand the ZIP file to a directory of your choosing on your computer
Sync to phone
- Connect your Android phone to your computer using a USB cable.
- Set the phone to connect as a Disk Drive. Note: If you are not prompted to "Mount as disk drive," check the Android Status Bar and click the USB connection type. Choose "Disk drive – Mount as disk drive" as your connection type.
- On your Desktop, click "My Computer" (PC) or Finder (Mac) and find the disk drive associated with your Android phone.
Note: If you see a separate drive for your SD Card, you may use either drive. - Open the drive and look for a folder labeled "ringtones." If it does not exist, create one now.
- Drag the OGG file(s) to the "ringtones" folder.
- Safely remove the phone (using "Safely Remove Hardware" for PC or the eject button for Mac) and physically disconnect it to complete the transfer.
Set as ringtone
- On your phone, open Settings | Sound & Display | Phone Ringtone, and choose your new ringtone! (It will have the same name as the MP3 file.) This will set your default ringtone. To assign a ringtone to a contact, follow your phone's instructions.
iPhone
- Download the iPhone ZIP file to your computer.
- Expand the ZIP file to a directory of your choosing on your computer
- Import to iTunes
- Double click the file to open it in iTunes and import it into the ringtones library.
Sync to phone
- Plug your iPhone into your computer.
- Click on iPhone.
- Click on ringtones tab.
- Make sure that the “sync ringtones” checkbox is checked.
- Click “sync.”
Set as ringtone
- Use your iPhone to set the ringtone as you normally would – either as the default ringtone or assigned to a contact.
